The invalidation of the Safe Harbor Arrangement in 2015 left a legal void for companies looking to process Europeans’ data in the United States. That void was filled by the Privacy Shield, a framework for regulating transatlantic exchanges of personal data for commercial purposes, which attempted to remedy the deficiencies that the Court of Justice of the European Union had identified. However, the Privacy Shield was quickly challenged and earlier this summer it too was invalidated.

During this Crash Course, two panels of experts will examine what went wrong, what should happen next, and what companies and other entities need to know in order to respond to this change.
