Hon. Adam Kendall

Colorado Judicial Branch, First Judicial District — Magistrate Judge



Hon. Adam Kendall serves as a magistrate judge in the First Judicial District of Colorado, covering criminal dockets and handling a variety of civil matters to include presiding over protection orders, small claims trials, and eviction cases. In his career as a litigator, Mag. Kendall tried over 70 cases as lead counsel, and many more as second chair. He has extensive experience as a civil litigator—representing both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide array of business litigation matters—a criminal defense attorney, and as a prosecutor in two Denver metropolitan area district attorney offices. Just prior to his appointment to the bench, Mag. Kendall was a Chief Trial Deputy District Attorney in the Office of the District Attorney for the Twentieth Judicial District of Colorado (Boulder) where he handled a small docket of serious trial cases, helped develop trainings for the office’s attorneys, and managed the office’s appellate unit. Mag. Kendall has been a trial advocacy coach for the University of Colorado Law School since 2012. He has served as a faculty member for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA) since 2013 and as a program director since 2025.
