Ansel Halliburton works at Align Technology, the medical device company behind the Invisalign clear aligner system. At Align, Ansel has dual roles as a lawyer on the Global Trademarks team, as well as a technologist on the Legal Operations team.

Previously, Ansel co-founded Syntexys, a document analytics startup that spun out from Acubed, Airbus’s Silicon Valley innovation hub; worked in private practice in startup law and IP litigation; and was an early employee of Stanford’s IP Litigation Clearinghouse, which later spun out as Lex Machina and was acquired by LexisNexis.

Ansel sits on the board of Free Law Project, the leading nonprofit using software and data to make the legal ecosystem more equitable and competitive, and holds a BA from UC Berkeley and a JD from UC Davis School of Law.

In his spare time, Ansel enjoys reading, camping, and playing Kerbal Space Program with his kids.
