Silicon Flatirons invites you to join an event honoring Ambassador Mickey Gardner in Washington, DC on June 7th, 2018. Mickey has dedicated himself to improving communications capabilities around the world through his leadership of the United States Telecommunications Training Institute (USTTI), which Mickey founded 36 years ago. The USTTI has had a long partnership with the University of Colorado to provide courses and training to many USTTI participants from across the globe. The University and Silicon Flatirons are now creating a Fund in Mickey’s honor to continue to provide ongoing educational opportunities for USTTI graduates. This upcoming event honoring Mickey will celebrate not only his work but will also raise awareness for the new Mickey Gardner International Scholars Support Fund at the University of Colorado.
About The Ambassador Mickey Gardner International Scholars Support Fund
This fund will support international activities and engagements of the Silicon Flatirons Center at the University of Colorado. It will leverage and build upon relationships developed as a result of Silicon Flatirons’ partnership and engagement with the United States Telecommunications Training Institute (USTTI) teaching program. This Fund will support scholarships for USTTI graduates to take classes at the University of Colorado, scholar-in-residence programs that would allow USTTI graduates to return for relevant Silicon Flatirons programs, and Silicon Flatirons’ international programs that engage USTTI graduates. This fund offers a great way to continue Mickey’s legacy.
