Entrepreneurs Unplugged is a meeting place where faculty, students, and community members learn about and get involved in entrepreneurship. In particular, the program offers students, faculty, and the Front Range startup community an opportunity to learn how a successful startup is created as well as an opportunity to network. Each Entrepreneurs Unplugged meeting features food, drink, and most importantly an experienced entrepreneur to discuss his/her startup experiences.
Yoav Lurie, President, Chief Operating Officer, Uplight
Prior to Uplight, Yoav served as CEO and founder of Simple Energy, where he drove the company to become the leading provider of marketplaces, instant rebates, and customer engagement software for electric and gas utilities.
Before founding Simple Energy, Yoav helped build a Washington, DC-based technology services firm, served as a managing director for Teach For America, and acted as national president for a network of free residential summer camps for the children of cancer patients. Yoav has been named one of Inc. Magazine’s top “30 Under 30” entrepreneurs. Yoav lives in Boulder, Colorado, with his wife and two adorable children.
Justin Segall, Chief Strategy Officer, Uplight
Justin leads corporate strategy, M&A, partnerships, marketing, and regulatory affairs at Uplight. Justin is passionate about accelerating a clean energy future by motivating and enabling a new technology-driven connection for energy users and providers.
Justin has been an entrepreneurial leader at the intersection of energy, community development, and public-private partnerships for over 15 years. In addition to co-founding and serving as President of Simple Energy, Justin drove the initiative to certify the company as a B Corporation. Prior to Simple Energy, Justin served as Vice President of Resource Development for Renewable Choice Energy. When not pursuing his purpose-driven work, you can find him spending time with his family exploring the great outdoors.
