Entrepreneurs Unplugged: Chris White, Co-founder and CEO, Shinesty (and 80's Night at Silicon Flatirons!)

Silicon Flatirons and StartUp Meetup present Chris White as our featured entrepreneur.

In the spirit of Shinesty’s mission, attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite 80’s or other “outlandish” apparel and Shine On!

Entrepreneurs Unplugged is a meeting place where faculty, students, and community members learn about and get involved in entrepreneurship. In particular, the program offers students, faculty and the Front Range startup community an opportunity to learn how a successful startup is created as well as an opportunity to network. Each Entrepreneurs Unplugged meeting features food, drink and – most importantly – an experienced entrepreneur to discuss his/her start-up experiences.

Chris White, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, Shinesty
At age 18, Chris was forced to become financially independent, plus pay for his tuition at DePauw University. He started working multiple commission-based sales jobs and it set his life on a different course.  After graduating, with majors in Religious Studies and Communications, Chris moved to Colorado to pursue a JD/MBA at CU Boulder and became hooked on the Colorado Startup life. While in graduate school, Chris learned about the apparel business by selling screen printed clothing to students and became very aware of what college students thought was funny.  From there, Chris set off to build a totally ridiculous, sarcastic, and irreverent brand that helped people look awesome and find unique, outlandish products.  Shinesty now has 25+ employees; a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 400% over the last two years; nationally known customers, such as the Chicago Cubs; and recently filmed a docu-comedy series for MTV that will air in the spring or summer of 2017.
