Silicon Flatirons Opens Call for Proposals for Entrepreneurial Policy Academy

UPDATE: DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS EXTENDED TO JULY 17, 2020.

Silicon Flatirons Opens Call for Proposals for Entrepreneurial Policy Academy

Silicon Flatirons seeks proposals for the creation of 30-minute teaching modules as part of the curriculum for a Policy Academy, which is intended to teach the basics of policy engagement.

Applicants are asked to provide a topic for their module, 3-5 top takeaways that attendees will receive, and a description of their credentials to be able to teach on that topic. Topics may include lessons on how to track and understand policy developments, approaches and methods to engage on policy topics, best practices for engagement, or other relevant material.

If selected, applicants will be asked to develop the module, which should include visual aids, course notes, and background reading materials. During the development process, applicants may be asked to consult with outside experts and incorporate suggested edits in line with the goals of the program. Once the module is accepted, it will be included in a comprehensive curriculum. Applicants will be given the opportunity to teach their module as part of a comprehensive curriculum to a class of 8 entrepreneurs from rural Colorado during the launch of the Policy Academy in the fall of 2020. Note: Due to restrictions on travel and convening on account of the ongoing spread of COVID-19, the Academy will be hosted virtually.

Applicants will be selected on a range of factors, including the relevance of the chosen topic to the current environment, applicability to a diverse and inclusive audience, ability to execute the module with a high degree of quality, willingness to teach during the Policy Academy in the fall of 2020, and placement within the broader curriculum. Applicants will receive a $500 stipend for the development of the module, and an additional $500 stipend for their time presenting it during the Policy Academy.

All modules developed in response to this CFP will be expected to be licensed under the creative commons, CC BY-SA.
