BOULDER – Federal Communications Commission chairman Tom Wheeler and Federal Trade Commission chairwoman Edith Ramirez will headline a conference at the University of Colorado-Boulder on Sunday and Monday that deals with Internet governance.
The CU law school’s Silicon Flatirons Center for Law, Technology and Entrepreneurship will host the conference, titled Digital Broadband Migration: After the Internet Protocol Revolution.
The conference will cover a variety of Internet governance issues, including strategies for addressing competition policy concerns, net neutrality and institutional strategies for developing sound Internet policies.
Wheeler will give his keynote address at 11:50 a.m. Monday, Feb.10, in the Wittemyer Courtroom of the Wolf Law Building. Ramirez, meanwhile, will sit down with law professor Paul Ohm for a “fireside chat” at 9 a.m. that day.
Online pre-registration for the conference runs through Thursday, Feb. 6, and is free for CU faculty, staff and students, as well as for Silicon Flatirons sponsors. General registration is $400 online and $500 at the door. For CU alumni, the cost is $300 online and $400 at the door. And those with academic and government affiliations can register for $250 online and $350 at the door.
