A message to students on the impact of COVID-19

Dear Students,

You are the heart of Silicon Flatirons. Given the dynamic environment around the outbreak of COVID-19 and the dissemination of information related to that outbreak, we feel it is incumbent to ensure we are taking all steps to protect you and your health. This is particularly important as we near the end of the semester, and the anticipated start of student summer internships.

The University of Colorado Boulder and Colorado Law have taken significant and laudable steps to limit large public gatherings and protect students. We applaud these measures. We are watching the situation closely and will follow any further instructions.

So far, we have taken steps to shift as many student events as possible to a virtual platform. Other events have needed to be postponed or canceled, and in these more extreme cases we will work to provide some alternative solutions wherever possible.

As we look ahead, we will work with our partners, hosts, and community members to preserve as many aspects of our student programs during the summer, including Startup Summer and DC Scholars. Our team is working to gather information and explore alternatives as necessary in the case that students have their offers rescinded due to uncertainty around the current environment. We are available to provide support wherever possible and to answer questions to the extent we are able as we continue to learn more about the threat and the risks to our students and community.

We will continue to update this post as we have more information.

Sincerely,
