Mike Conover is the Founder and CEO of Brightwave, an AI-powered research and intelligence platform for investment professionals. Mike has a 20-year track record building machine learning technologies and has a Ph.D. in complexity science from Indiana University focused on understanding large-scale patterns in human communication networks. Prior to Brightwave, he led language model engineering efforts at Databricks, where he created their first open-source LLM. This groundbreaking work in April 2023 was the first to demonstrate that open-source technologies could achieve ChatGPT-like capabilities, helping democratize AI development.
