Andrew A. Schwartz, Professor of Law at the University of Colorado, wrote the book to which this symposium is addressed, Investment Crowdfunding, published by Oxford University Press in 2023. This book is the culmination of a decade of research he pursued around the world, including as a Fulbright Scholar in residence at the University of Auckland in New Zealand. Professor Schwartz holds an engineering degree from Brown University and a law degree from Columbia University. After graduating, he clerked for two federal judges, the Hon. Naomi Reice Buchwald, of the Southern District of New York, and the Hon. William A. Fletcher, of the Ninth Circuit, and then practiced corporate law at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz in New York for several years. He entered academia in 2008, when he joined the law faculty of the University of Colorado. He teaches and publishes on corporate, securities, and contract law, and his many articles have appeared in leading journals including the UCLA Law Review and the Yale Journal on Regulation. His articles are widely cited, have won awards, and have been cited in important judicial opinions. Investment Crowdfunding is his first book.
