What I Wish I Knew in Law School

Tags: Content/IP

This event is always well received and is highly recommended for law students – especially 1Ls and 2Ls – interested in learning more about transactional law, policy work, in-house counsel, and non-traditional job paths.

The event’s premise is that transactional attorneys often lament after the fact that they wish they’d known a number of things earlier in their careers: which courses to take during law school, where and how to network, how to learn about business and future clients, and how to position oneself for a transactional career. The event’s format is small, fast, and interactive – modeled after a speed dating approach. Several transactional attorneys will attend as well as some individuals who have used the JD flexibly outside of legal practice. Students meet attorneys in small groups of 5-10. This tends to be an event that students find high value in attending.
