Brian M. Argrow is Distinguished Professor and Glenn Murphy Endowed Chair in the Ann and H.J. Smead Department of Aerospace Engineering Sciences. He is founding Director of the Integrated Remote & In-Situ Sensing Program (IRISS) and founding Director (emeritus) of the Research and Engineering Center for Unmanned Vehicles (RECUV). His research includes design and deployment of small, uncrewed aircraft systems, airspace integration, aerodynamics, and aerothermodynamics. He has served as associate dean for education, department chair, and department associate chair. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering; past member of the Aeronautics and Space Engineering Board of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine; Fellow of the American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics; and recipient of the Department of the Air Force Exemplary Civilian Service Award for service on the Air Force Scientific Advisory Board. He is a University of Colorado President’s Teaching Scholar, Fellow of the Center for STEM Teaching and Learning, and recipient of the W.M. Keck Foundation Excellence in Teaching Award. He is a founding board member of the UAS Colorado business league.
