Mike Conover is the CEO and co-founder of Brightwave. Backed by SF and NYC investors, including one of the largest hedge funds in the world, Brightwave is a Boulder-based startup building an AI research assistant that helps investment professionals generate better ideas faster. Prior to Brightwave, Mike established and led Databricks’ engineering efforts relating to open source language models, including Databricks’ Dolly (10k github stars; 500k peak monthly Hugging Face downloads) Mike has been building AI systems & products for more than fifteen years, including tours of duty at Workday, SkipFlag (acquired by Workday), and LinkedIn.  He has a PhD in complexity science from Indiana University, and his work has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, TechCrunch, Hacker News, MIT Technology Review and on NPR.
