Stephanie Curcio is an IP attorney and the co-founder & CEO of NLPatent – the makers of a leading next generation (AI) patent search platform used by Am Law 100 firms and F500 companies.
Stephanie serves as Vice Chair of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA)’s Emerging Technologies Committee and was formerly co-chair of its AI subcommittee. She is actively involved in advising national patent offices on policy considerations relating to AI and intellectual property. She has made significant contributions to the AIPLA’s comment requests from the USPTO, the WIPO and the CNIPA; some were recognized and published, such as in the USPTO’s Public Views on Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Property Policy. She is also a member of the AIPLA’s cross-committee task force on AI policy and is also co-chair of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC)’s AI policy task force, assembled to advise the CIPO on policy regarding patentability of AI-related inventions.
Her work at the intersection between AI and patent law has made her a sought-after expert on matters regarding the efficiency and accuracy of patent prosecution and litigation as well as patent portfolio management. She was recently featured in IAM 300 Global Leaders Guide as a world leading IP strategist.
