Sandy is a Forensic Musicologist and has served as an expert in several litigations including Williams and Thicke in “Blurred Lines” v. Marvin Gaye, for several defendants in Armour v. Beyoncé Knowles, among many others. She has analyzed numerous musical pieces and samples, has done public domain and prior art research, copyright valuations, and has consulted on a wide range of music-related issues including as a musicologist for the Grammy-winning soundtrack for Coen Brother’s “O Brother Where Art Thou.” Preventatively, she regularly consults with companies using music to help determine if a pre-released work points specifically to another copyrighted work and if so, she identifies those problematic areas that require changes.
