Nisar Ahmed

Nisar is an Assistant Professor with the Smead Aerospace Engineering Sciences Department at CU Boulder. He received his B.S. in Engineering from Cooper Union, and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University in 2012, where he also did a postdoc until 2014. He is part of the Research and Engineering Center for Unmanned Vehicles (RECUV) and directs the Cooperative Human-Robot Intelligence (COHRINT) Lab, which conducts research on AI and machine learning for human-autonomous robot interaction and distributed information fusion in aerospace settings.

Nisar is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Intelligent Systems Technical Committee, has led several workshops on autonomous robotics and human-autonomy interaction, and has been supported by the DoD, NASA, DARPA, and industry.
